      <title>Kids love those new phones.</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="3"&gt;Kids are watching the Apple and Google&amp;nbsp; smart phone battles for features and benefits. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio Staff&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;font size="2"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What do gifted kids have to say about the new phone opportunities that may end up in the hands of kids if the price and features are right?&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://asset3.pnn.com/graphics/show/22509/160/image.jpg" vspace="1" hspace="1" align="left" alt="" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio got the news that Google is now in the cellphone market and now consumers are going to benefit big time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google is going after the cellphone market and Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio is hitting the schools talking to kids about this week&#8217;s hot news.&amp;nbsp; The G1 phone made by HTC is the first to run Goggle&#8217;s Android operating system for mobile devices, with several dozen more expected from different manufactures and wireless provides.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio feels that it is considered the strongest competitor to Apple&#8217;s iPhone.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Here is what kids have to say about price, battery life, screen size (diagonal), camera, navigation, storage capacity, and Internet connection.&amp;nbsp; These are the things that kids care about the most.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When we compare the G1 (Google Phone) to the iPhone (Apple Phone) what do the prices look like?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The G1 is $179.00 and the iPhone is $199.00.&amp;nbsp; Kids always like the lower price.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; This is one point for Google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When we compare the weight of both phones, the G1 is 5.6 ounces and the iPhone is 4.7 ounces.&amp;nbsp; The kids give one point to Apple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What about battery life?&amp;nbsp; The kids hate having their iPhones gone down around 5:00 P.M. and battery life is a big deal with kids. The Google G1 will give you 5 hours talk time, 130 hours standby.&amp;nbsp; The Apple iPhone will give you 5 hours talk time, 300 hours standby.&amp;nbsp; Both companies need to clean up their battery act.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The Kids give one point to Apple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is the big deal on screen sizes (diagonal)?&amp;nbsp; The G1 has 3.2 inches and the iPhone has 3.5 inches.&amp;nbsp; The people at Apple are very smart. Size does matter.&amp;nbsp; The Kids give one point to Apple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What about the cameras inside each of these phones?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Kids love taking pictures and this feature is very important to kids.&amp;nbsp; Google understands kids and has included a 3-megapixel phone in the G1.&amp;nbsp; Apple has a 2-megapixel camera.&amp;nbsp; Sorry Apple, the Kids give one point to Google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What about navigation on these two phones?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Kids love keyboards.&amp;nbsp; They also have small fingers and lots of playtime on their hands. Google offers a slide-out keyboard, trackball and touch screen.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Apple offers a multi-touch screen.&amp;nbsp; Sorry Apple we are going to give one point to Google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What about the all important storage question?&amp;nbsp; Which phone has more memory for all the crazy things that kids are going to do?&lt;br /&gt;The Google G1 offers a gigabyte, expandable up to 8 gigabytes storage capacity.&amp;nbsp; The Apple iPhone has 8 or 16 gigabytes flash memory.&amp;nbsp; Sorry Google, the Kids give one point to Apple.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And now for our biggest question of the day!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; What about the Internet Connection?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google offers Wi-Fi; Edge network, 3G network, which covers about two dozen cites.&amp;nbsp; Apple has the best Internet connection with Wi-Fi; Edge network; 3G network, which covers about 300 cities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In Summary, Apple is the winner with 5 points and Google G1 comes in second with 3 points.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Google has a great price and Apple has a great phone.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; If given these products for free, the kids would take the Apple iPhone.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You heard it first, on Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, maybe you heard it sixth or seventh on Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio.&amp;nbsp; The important thing is now you know how kids feel about the two Google and Apple phones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Send your comments to Editor at Kid&#8217;s Talk Radio.&amp;nbsp; Suprschool@aol.com&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For Gifted Kids Only:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We discovered that Google released version 1.0 of the Android SDK to coincide with the product launch on Tuesday, while Apple has had an active developer program for the iPhone for some time.       <title>"Some Kind of Funny Porto Rican?"</title>
      <description>&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;font face="Verdana, sans-serif" color="#000000"&gt;Dr. Claire Andrade-Watkins&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is more than just a movie!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bob Barboza and a new team of Cape Verdean student reporters traveled to the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles to see a special edition of Dr. Andrade-Watkins new movie.&amp;nbsp; Why were people crying?&amp;nbsp; "Some Kind of Funny Porto Rican?" is carry a heavy message.&amp;nbsp; It is a Cape Verdean American Story that applies to everyone in America.&amp;nbsp; It is a story about what happens when you trust others to take care of things for you.&amp;nbsp; This sotry is about the destruction of a vibrant community of immigrants from the Cape Verde Islands in the Fox Point section of Providence, Rhode Island.&amp;nbsp; Three generations of Cape Verdeans were forcibly displaced by urban renewal in the 1960s and 1970s to make way for the fancy coffee shops, antique stores and elegantly restored houses that now fill the streets of Fox Point.&amp;nbsp; The tragedy and scandal of a legancy lost in told through the voices of the Cape Verdean elders.&amp;nbsp; It spans the sea of memory and time of a community set adrift.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our news team took&amp;nbsp; photos, videos, and six reporters created a&amp;nbsp; podcast of Dr. Andrade-Watkins.&amp;nbsp; We spent time talking to her at lunch and the movie and its message had people rushing to buy her DVD.&amp;nbsp; We purchased a copy for Kid's Talk Radio and we plan on watching it more than once.&amp;nbsp; Every elected offical needs to watch this movie.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; We will have more on this fantastic films in the days and weeks to come.&amp;nbsp; Enjoy our special interview of Clair Andrade-Watkins.&amp;nbsp; She is now on our list of important women to pay attention to in America.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For Help, go to: &lt;a href="http://help.pnn.com"&gt;&lt;b&gt;http://help.pnn.com&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/font&gt;</description>
