Meet "Super Sub" Kimberley Sanders!

Kimberley Sanders on Joining the "SUPER SUBS"

I Kimberley Sanders, Lead Dancer/Choreographer for Entertainmentfirst, Inc. would like to thank Bob Barboza - creator of 'Kids Talk Radio' for inviting me to be part of his new revolutionary concept for inner city schools -  "Super Subs".
Together as professional entertainers, mentors and teachers I believe we can reach out through this program and make a difference to a vast majority of children who may be less fortunate than others.
On March 13th we attended the Animo Locke Tech High School in South Central LA and my experience with the kids and the teachers was a very positive one. We found that the students were willing to watch demonstrations and experience different forms of modern dance and were above all ready to participate in learning routines based from street or hip hop dance in which they could relate to and get excited about.
As a choreographer and dance teacher I find it important to relate to the social aspects in these kids lives and keeping dance relative to things they already know such as sports, music and the streets, makes it easier for them to let down their guard and give it a try.
We always pull from the positive sides of life.

Overall the day was positive, esteem building for most and a lot of fun - we only hope we can make a change in young people's lives and be a positive role model for the next generation.

Dance is a form of fun and a release for these kids but we also like to show them that there are certain disciplines needed to get great results, relating this to their school work is also an important factor to me because our minds are a muscle that are meant to be used - not abused, so studying anything takes time and Practice makes Perfect!!
